An Indian Islamic scholar, Syed Salman Hussein Nadvi, has emphasised that US-imposed sanctions against Iran are absolutely illegal, inhumane and illogical.

Iran Press/Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Wednesday, Syed Salman Hussein Nadvi reiterated that what we need most today in the world of Islam is brotherhood, friendship, unity and cooperation between Muslim countries, and peaceful coexistence of various religious sects and religions. By holding conferences such as this, more friendship and cooperation will develop within the world of Islam, and Muslim countries will come  closer together, collaborating and cooperating with one another.

In further comments, the Indian scholar Syed Salman Hussein Nadvi, said: "Supporters of the Israeli regime are our enemies. We will stand against those who try to divide and cause rifts between Shias and Sunnis."

Asked about US sanctions against Iran, the Indian scholar stressed: "The US-imposed sanctions against Iran are absolutely illegal, inhumane and illogical. America by imposing sanctions encroaches and breaches human rights and contradicts humanitarian values. Thus, the sanctions against Iran are serving the interests of Zionism and the Israeli regime. Israel is the only one which benefits from these sanctions."

Peaceful coexistence conference was held at Tehran university on Wednesday 26 June 2019. Many Islamic scholars, academics and intellectuals from Muslim and non-Muslim countries and Iranian presidential aide for minorities affairs took part inn the conference. The conference was intended to bring Muslims closer together, encouraging unity and cooperation between  Islamic countries.
