Palestinians march across Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, demonstrating on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Nakba Day.

Iran Press/Middle East: 'Nakba' or catastrophe, commemorates the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who were expelled in the war that led to the establishment of Israel in 1948. It is a day of mourning and protests for the Palestinians.

Forty-seven Gazans were injured Wednesday as Israeli security forces used live fire, tear gas and skunk spray against 10,000 protesters commemorating Nakba Day along the Gaza border, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported according to Al Jazeera.

Marches also took place in Ramallah and Bethlehem.

Witnesses said the soldiers fired live ammunition, tear gas canisters and rubber-coated steel bullets to disperse protesters and keep them away from the fence. 101/211/205
