Two armed men fired from opposite sides of a North Philadelphia street killing a 14-year-old boy.

Philadelphia police said that two armed men fired along North 4th Street overnight killing a 14-year-old boy, wounding three other teens, and injuring a man, police say.

The boys were taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. The 24-year-old man was taken to Temple University Hospital.

The two shooters worked with each other as they fired at least 21 shots from opposite sides of the street.

One of the shooters could be a teenager who is 15 or 16 years old, witnesses and victims told investigators.

Police were in contact with the teen’s family in hopes of tracking him down.

Americans are more likely to die from gun violence than many leading causes of death combined, with some 11,000 people in the US killed in firearm assaults each year.
