Iran Press/Iran news: Seyyed Ahmad Hosseini said the launch of Zafar satellite by the Simorgh carrier rocket is a complicated business and will be achieved using state-of-the-art technologies, adding that as soon as all conditions are right for the launch, the satellite will be blasted into space.
The Zafar satellite is scheduled to be launched soon. The satellite will be placed in orbit, about 500 km above earth's surface.

High-resolution images sent back by Zafar will be used to find new oil reservoirs, and will help with mining, forestry, identifying salty and alkaline lands, plant diseases and pests, and will also help with management of natural disasters.
The Iranian satellite carrier rocket 'Simorgh' is capable of putting satellites weighing up to 250 kilograms in an orbit 500 km above earth's surface. 101/211/207
