Why it matters
About 15 major institutions, mostly in the U.S. and Europe, regularly publish analyses aiming to tarnish Iran’s global reputation, particularly over its nuclear program. The think tank aims to become a key player in international nuclear debates and ensure Iran’s perspective isn’t missing from global discourse.
State of play:
The misrepresenting content, disseminated weekly through media outlets influenced by the Israeli regime, has shaped negative international perceptions, while Iran has lacked a comparable counter-narrative presence.
The big picture:
Two years ago, work began to set up a “nuclear watch” think tank. The institute recruits scholars and intellectuals from both inside and outside Iran, with a mission to produce material in several languages to counter the Israeli-led propaganda against Iran's nuclear program.
What he’s saying:
Mohammad Eslami: “Remaining silent or leaving a gap in the discourse is not an option. This institute aims to proactively contribute, rather than merely respond to, the international conversation about Iran’s nuclear activities.”
What’s next:
The think tank plans to expand partnerships and increase advocacy worldwide. More original research and media engagement, including op-eds and expert briefings, will be coming soon in English and other major languages.
