Iran Press/ West Asia: Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni forces, announced on Sunday that "a specific military operation against important targets in the Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) area with a number of ballistic missiles" was successfully conducted, achieving its intended goals. He further detailed that the operation extended to the Red Sea, where the American ship named "Pumba" was targeted by ballistic missiles and drones.
General Saree emphasized Yemen's stance in a powerful declaration: “Yemen’s Armed Forces affirm their full right to defend beloved Yemen against the American-British aggression, as well as against the Israeli aggression, and that this aggression will not deter the great Yemen from its solid stance towards the oppression of the Palestinian people.” He warned of continued naval operations against not only Israeli and American ships but also British vessels, or any that are en route to Israeli ports until the perceived aggression ceases and the siege on Gaza is lifted.
In a stark reminder of the ongoing conflict, Saree proclaimed, “The Yemeni armed forces confirm that the response to the Israeli aggression against our country is inevitably coming and will be huge and great.”
The attacks are a retaliation to Israeli military actions which, according to reports, targeted civilian facilities in Yemen's western province of al-Hudaydah on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to over 80 others.
Yemeni forces also launched a drone attack near the US consular facility in Tel Aviv on Friday, which led to one fatality and ten injuries, marking a significant breach in Israeli air defenses.
Since October 7, 2023, following the initiation of the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza, Yemen has been actively targeting Israeli territories and associated vessels. Yemen vows to continue its operations as long as Israel persists with its military campaign and the ongoing blockade against the Palestinian territories.
The death toll from the ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza has been devastating, with 38,919 Palestinians reported killed, the majority being women and children, and 89,622 more injured, highlighting the grave humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region.
