Iran Press/Europe: Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani on Monday added: "The Inter-Parliamentary Union must be the strong voice of Palestine."
Speaker of the Iranian Parliament met with Mohammed Qureshi Nias, Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States, known as PUIC, on the sideline of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Belgrade, Serbia.
Ali Larijani said: "Expanding economic ties between Islamic countries will have affects on their political difficulties and it will turn enmity and rivalry to a cooperation and partnership."
Larijani added: "Of course, some problems in the Muslim world are not easily solved because the ignorance does not allow it, but the path of interaction and dialogue must continue.”
Mohammed Qureshi Nias also said youth unemployment, human rights, terrorism, and extremism are among the subjects that the union interested in.
Larijani arrived in Belgrade, on Sunday for the 141st session of the International Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) was founded in 1889. The Parliaments of 178 countries are members of the World Inter-Parliamentary Union and the 12 regional parliamentary assemblies are its affiliates.
