Iran Press/ America: The sixty-sixth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66 ), after a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus outbreak, began on March 14 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and will last until March 25, 2022.
Due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, CSW66 will take place in a hybrid format. All side events and parallel events will be entirely virtual.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Ensieh Khazali, Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Women and Family Affairs, met with a group of women peace activists living in the United States on Saturday.
"We must spread peace in the world by uniting religions and prevent war and sanctions with the help of all women who love peace," Khazali said in the meeting.
The vice president also said that the sanctions harmed women and children, and since the countries that impose sanctions are strong, they prevent the voice of dissent from being heard.
