Iran Press/ Iran News: Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi met with the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Wednesday during his visit to Tehran.
Iran's foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian emphasized in a joint press conference with his Omani counterpart: "During the Vienna talks, we will not cross Iran's red lines under any circumstances."
He also said: "We are optimistic about the Vienna talks and hope that with the realism of the West, the few sensitive and important issues that remain will be resolved."
He continued: "The Vienna talks have reached a critical stage but there are still small but very important issues."
Iran is optimistic but no practical action taken by US
In his remarks, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs went on to say that although the country is optimistic about Vienna talks, no practical action has been taken by the US to prove its goodwill yet.
Regarding the Vienna talks, Iran's Foreign Minister added: "The Vienna talks have reached a critical stage and today, in addition to bilateral relations on various regional issues, we discussed and exchanged with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Omani Sultanate."
Emphasizing that there are still small but significant issues in Vienna talks, he said: "I in Munich and my colleague Dr. Bagheri in Vienna have explicitly emphasized the Western sides in diplomatic meetings, as well as the EU Coordinator Joseph Borrell. We have stated that we will not cross our red lines in any way in the Vienna talks, and we will show this strongly."
The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized: "At the same time, we consider the necessity of any negotiation to be useful and so that there are benefits for the great nation of Iran in that negotiation."
He added: "We continue to have direct talks between the senior Iranian negotiator and the representatives of the P4 + 1 countries in Vienna, and through Mr. Mora, the representative of the European Union, and the exchange of non-papers, the US representative and the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran will exchange messages."
Amir Abdollahian added: "We receive many messages from US officials about a direct dialogue. What is important for us is what will be the benefit of this dialogue and whether there will be a different future from what has happened in the current negotiations and whether there will be any further achievement."
Amir Abdollahian noted: "We hope that the few important issues that remain in the talks with the realism of the West will be resolved in the coming days and the efforts made in the last nine months will be concluded. Let's assume that all parties to our commitment will return to their full commitments under the 2015 Vienna Agreement."
All-out cooperation; key to solving regional crises
Amir-Abdollahian also noted that all-out collaboration is required to solve the regional problem and expressed Iran's readiness to maintain regional security and stability.
Speaking at the joint press conference with his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed satisfaction with the expanding relations between the two countries and stressed the continuation of the meeting between officials of the two countries in various political, economic, and cultural fields and the activation of specialized committees, including the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission.
Referring to Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Qatar, Iran's Foreign Minister highlighted that Tehran and Muscat have inked 14 documents, adding that the 14 cooperation documents signed are in the fields of aviation, trade, shipping, radio and television, visa, electricity, standards, culture, and education.
Also reiterating Afghanistan's critical status quo, he said: "Iran's all efforts are for the formation of an all-out inclusive government in Afghanistan that embraces all people of the country."
Tehran and Riyadh have held four rounds of talks in Iraq after the Raisi's administration is set up and hope to reach an agreement, stated the minister concerning Iran's relations with Saudi Arabia.
Elsewhere in his speech, he pointed to the Yemeni crisis and said the situation in Yemen has now turned out to be a great humanitarian catastrophe.
"The fact that the Iranian ambassador to Sana'a Martyr Irloo, could not enjoy the least medical facilities due to the humanitarian siege in Yemen and was martyred out of COVID-19 infection indicates the dire humanitarian situation in Yemen."
He said even high-ranking officials and diplomats, along with the millions of Yemenis who suffer from these humanitarian sanctions and humanitarian sieges, are in a similar situation.
Iran's Foreign Minister said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is actively ready to achieve peace and security in the region and the lifting of the humanitarian blockade on Yemen and the termination of hostilities in Yemen and the start of Yemeni-Yemeni talks."
Tehran-Muscat ties in two sides, region's interests
Omani Foreign Minister says that Iran-Oman ties are based on mutual trust, respect, and shared interests, which strive to benefit both countries and the region.
Holding a press conference upon his arrival in Tehran on Wednesday with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi said: "I will convey the letter of Oman Sultan to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, and hope to visit him in the near future in Oman to set up a new phase of bilateral ties and cooperation."
"A Joint Economic Commission Meeting of the two sides was held in Muscat a while ago and we are trying to implement the memoranda of understanding signed in the very joint commission," Albusaidi stated.
He also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation to achieve confidence, peace, and stability in the region.
The Iranian and Omani foreign ministers held a meeting before the press briefing on Wednesday, Feb.23, 2022.
In the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with expanding relations between the two countries and stressed the continuation of the meeting between officials in various political, economic, and cultural fields.
