Tehran(IP)- The first vice president of the Islamic Republic of Iran described the relations between Tehran and Muscat as historical and said that efforts should be made to expand the economic relations between the two countries.

Iran PressIran News: The relations between Iran and Oman in the last few decades, despite the tensions in the Persian Gulf and US efforts to intensify Iranophobia, have always been based on mutual respect and interests.

Mohammad Mokhber, the first vice president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with "Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef- Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman in Tehran said that the country is ready to transform its commercial relations with Oman and improve the level of bilateral economic cooperation.

Referring to the many fields of cooperation between Iran and Oman, such as energy, industry, medicine and medical equipment, Mokhber noted that the country has made great progress in various industrial fields and it is ready to improve cooperation with Oman in all these fields.

"Qays Bin Mohammad Al Youssef", also announced his country's determination to strengthen relations with Iran in the meeting and said that during the trip, he had been surprised by the country's industrial progress and achievements.

Qais bin Mohammad Al Youssef called for the conclusion of a preferential trade agreement between Iran and Oman and expressed hope that with the visit of the King of Oman to the country, which will happen in the near future, a new chapter of trade relations between the two countries will be opened.
