Iran Press/ Middle East: Grand Ayatollah Hossein Noori Hamedani said on Saturday that enemies are bent on involving the people in such acts by creating terrorist outfits and spending huge amounts of money so that they could achieve their vicious aims by creating enmity and discord among Muslims.
"Although enemies are trying to weaken Islam and the Resistance Movement, their plots should be foiled vigilantly."
The comments came as Iraq is grappling with anti-government protests in several cities.
Similar to Iraq, Lebanon has also witnessed mass anti-government demonstrations, which led to the resignation of Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri late last month.
"The religious scholars do play a significant role in informing people about the enemies' plots," the senior cleric added.
