Iran Press/ Iran news: The eighth round of Vienna talks on lifting US sanctions against Iran resumed on February 8 in the Austrian capital after an 11-day break for consultations between the delegations and their capitals in the presence of the Iranian and P4 + 1 delegations (Germany, France, Britain, Russia, and China). It has been held in various levels and formats since then.
Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, wrote on Twitter on Thursday, referring to the failure of the US "maximum pressure" policy: "Strategy of active resistance defeated Trump's policy of maximum pressure confessing by current US administration."
Ali Bagheri Kani, the chief negotiator of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a short visit to Tehran on Wednesday (February 23) as part of the usual round of talks, but the Iranian delegation was in Vienna and continued consultations.
Bagheri Kani returned to Vienna on March 28, and talks in Vienna are still ongoing.
"A draft of the agreement has been prepared and there is no ambiguity for Washington and Europe about Iran's red lines, and the Islamic Republic of Iran will certainly not cross its red lines," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told reporters at a weekly news conference in Vienna on Monday.
