Iran Press/ Iran News: In a court-authorized act of sacrilege against the Muslim holy book, two men stood outside Stockholm Central Mosque on Wednesday and burned a copy of the Holy Quran.
The move was made to coincide with the Muslim festivity of Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice), which marks the conclusion of the annual hajj pilgrimage.
Delivering the Friday Prayer's sermon on June 30, Tehran Provisional Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Javad Haj Ali Akbari said that the Swedish government is not a decision-maker in this regard and is so weak to do so, but the blasphemous act has been instigated by the Israeli regime and the Zionist lobby.
Haj Ali Akbari noted that the bitter satire of the time is that Western countries call their ugly deeds freedom and do not have the courage to say that they do not respect the dignity of 2 billion people who live on earth.
The inhumane act of the Swedish government in granting permission to desecrate the holy book of nearly 2 billion Muslims around the world during the hajj pligrimage hurt the feelings of Muslims around the world, he said.
The top Iranian cleric called on Islamic organizations across the world to show a due reaction to the Swedish government through international legal mechanisms.
He said that the light of the Quran is engulfing the world, and such crimes by the enemies of Islam are committed just out of desperation.
