Lebanon (IP) – Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah has said on Thursday that the main woe of the region is the US intervention in everything as well as the culture of obeying the American will.

Iran PressMiddle East: In a speech on Thursday, Lebanon's Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah started his address to the mourning service of the late cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Afif Naboulsi.

Nasrallah renewed his condolences to the family of Sheikh Naboulsi and said: "We share the same pain of loss."

The secretary general of Lebanon's Hezbollah said Shia in Lebanon had faced during the previous century religious challenges and dire socioeconomic circumstances.

He noted that key religious figures had commenced in the 1960s and 1970s leading major changes and added: "Young clerics, including Sheikh Naboulsi and Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi, shouldered the religious concerns in cooperation with Sayyed Moussa Al-Sadr and the Iraqi key cleric Sayyed Mohammad BAqer Al-Sadr."

Nasrallah pointed out that those religious scholars had contributed to the Lebanese Shia interaction with the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran; Sheikh Naboulsi had contributed to the establishment of the Resistance, and paid the price of his stance during the 2006 War.

"The main woe of the region is the US intervention in everything as well as the culture of obeying the American will," he underlined.

Noting that the US embassy in Beirut forces the Lebanese authorities to adopt or avoid certain policies, Nasrallah said the Lebanese government must abide by the national interests’ requirements away from the US interventions.

Elaborating on the Beirut Port blast, he said families of Beirut Port blast martyrs must know that who politicized investigation against Hezbollah obliterated the truth of the explosion and underlined: "Criminals behind Beirut Port blast must be revealed and tried."
