Iran Press/ Iran news: Shamkhani arrived in UAE on Thursday afternoon at an official invitation. Upon his arrival in Dubai, Shamkhani met several UAE officials, the Prime Minister of the UAE and the Emir of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
In the meeting with Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Emir of Dubai, which was held at the Zabeel Palace in Dubai, Admiral Shamkhani, emphasized the acceleration of previous agreements to remove obstacles to bilateral cooperation.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is diligently seeking to strengthen continuous and constructive cooperation with its neighbors and has used its full range of capacities in this regard," Shamkhani said.
Referring to the region's need for peace, stability, and tranquility, the secretary of Iran's National Security Council called the lack of trust between the countries of the region a serious obstacle to achieving this goal and a blow to the economic development of the region.
"We need interaction and development of cooperation in all dimensions, a matter which will definitely increase the security, peace and well-being of the people of the region", Shamkhani said.
Shamkhani called the United Arab Emirates and the state of Dubai among the effective players in the economic and commercial developments of the region and said: "the current Iranian government, by adopting a neighbor-oriented strategy, is determined to overcome the artificial and imposed obstacles that have been created in the development of relations between the countries of the region".
Pointing to the serious will of the leaders of the two countries to create new opportunities in bilateral relations, he said: "The talks held during this trip with the highest political, economic, banking and security officials of the UAE have given a very clear perspective in the field of creating a surge in the relations between the two countries. "
Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum also congratulated Admiral Shamkhani on the agreement reached between Iran and Saudi Arabia for the resumption of bilateral relations and said that his country will use all its capacities to help implement this agreement.
The Emir of Dubai also expressed his satisfaction with Admiral Shamkhani's very important visit to the United Arab Emirates and added: "The promotion of bilateral and strategic relations with Iran has always been very important for the United Arab Emirates".
