Iran Press/Iran News: Governor of "Khoda Afarin" county in northwestern Iran, Ali Amiri-Rad said on Monday that the two rockets hit agricultural land, and fortunately did not cause any financial or human damage.
Amiri-Rad added that an unexploded mortar rocket hit the rangelands of Khoda Afarin county on Sunday.
Khoda Afarin County is a county in East Azerbaijan Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Khomarlu.
Military clashes between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces resumed in the Nagorno-Karabakh region on Sunday morning.
The Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia disagree on the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
The two countries' dispute over the Nagorno-Karabakh region began in 1988 and escalated into a military conflict in 1991, with some foreign interventions raising tensions.
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a separate telephone conversation with his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts on Sunday evening, called on the two sides to show restraint, announce a ceasefire and give an immediate end to hostilities, as well as start negotiations within the framework of international law.
