Iran Press/ Iran News: Here is an anecdote about the informative points in the lifestyle of one of the Ahl ul-Bayt's members, Imam Reza (AS), presented on the eve of his martyrdom anniversary.
A cool breeze was blowing. The sparrows were crowded on the big tree. Several Imam Reza was hosting a number of his friends. Imam came out of the room. A few minutes passed.
All awaited Ali bin Mousa al-Reza, but Imam Reza was walking in the yard. He seemed upset. One of the guests who saw Imam in such a sad mood asked him about the reason.
Imam Reza showed a half-eaten apple and said: "Who ate this fruit this way?
The young guest asked loudly: "Whose this half-eaten fruit is it?
The rest of the guests came out of the room.
The young man took the fruit from Imam Reza and repeated his question.
One of the guests put his hand on his chest and said: "O' My Mawla (Sir)! I apologize; I ate this apple."
Imam addressed him: "Why do you waste? Why don't you appreciate God's blessings and ignore them? Don't you know that God punishes the wasteful severely?"
Imam returned to the room with his guests. When all sat down, Imam addressed them: "My friends! When you don't need something, don't waste it and if you don't need it yourself, give it to someone who needs it."
The holy book of Muslims, the Quran, forbids all people to waste, to exceed the moderated level of life aspects, from eating to time to work; such that warns them about it (e.g. No doubt that what you call me to has no title to be called to in this world, nor in the hereafter, and that our turning back is to Allah, and that the extravagant are the inmates of the fire; Ghafir: 43)
