The Red Rectangle deals with the displacement of Ilam's citizens during the sacred defense era, and the film's name is due to the bloody bombardment of the football field by the Iraqi airforce.

The setting of the film is 1986, Chavar region, West of the country. In this war zone, the governor decides to run a football match to raise people's morale, but the game turns into a catastrophe leading to the martyrdom of ten footballers, three kids, a referee, and a spectator. The film is based on a true story and narrated by a French correspondent who was in the area at that time.

It is worth noting that 600 works of art took part in this cultural competition in Milan, and from among these, an Iranian Film was chosen for the top prize.   205/211/219
