Shamkhani further appreciated the constructive role of the People's Republic of China in supporting the development of relations between countries, which is necessary to solve challenges and increase peace and stability and promote international cooperation.
The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council evaluated the 5 rounds of initial negotiations with Saudi Arabia, which were hosted by Iraq and Oman, as effective in reaching the final agreement, and thanked the two countries for their efforts in this regard.
During the intensive talks between Admiral Ali Shamkhani and Mosaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, the officials of the national security institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, that were held from March 6 to 10 in Beijing, the two countries agreed that after 7 years, they would resume their bilateral diplomatic relations.
According to the agreement between the two countries, the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia will meet each other within two months at the latest, provide the implementation grounds for the exchange of ambassadors and the reopening of embassies, as well as other requirements for the resumption of relations.
The friendly relations of regional countries will definitely be a serious obstacle to the presence and interference of extra-regional countries and the usurping Zionist regime in West Asia.
