Iran PressIran news:  Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in reaction to some parts of the G7 leaders' statement, emphasized the purely peaceful nature of the Islamic Republic of Iran's nuclear program.

He considered the G7's reference to the recent anti-Iranian resolution of the IAEA Board of Governors as confirmation of the political approach of this resolution and its sponsors, as well as the misuse of international mechanisms by certain governments against independent countries.

Kanaani also stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran continues its constructive interaction and technical cooperation with the IAEA within the framework of its stated rights and obligations. He asserted that Iran's peaceful nuclear projects and plans will proceed in accordance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement, irrespective of pressures and political atmospherics.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while recalling the illegal actions of the United States and the three European countries as the root and main cause of the current situation, stated that proving goodwill and avoiding futile politically motivated actions are essential for addressing the mutual concerns of all parties.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson highlighted Iran's constructive and stabilizing role in establishing lasting security in the region. He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran will act decisively in protecting and defending its national security and interests against any uncalculated behavior or actions.

Kanaani, emphasizing Iran's unwavering commitment to human rights, noted that achieving the noble goals of human rights in the international arena is now facing significant challenges, the most immediate of which is the indifference and inaction of the G7 leaders towards the "systematic killing" and widespread massacre of Palestinians by the world's only apartheid regime, the aggressive and occupying regime of Israel in the Palestinian territories.

Regarding the developments in Ukraine, Kanaani reminded that, as repeatedly stated, any attempt to link the Ukraine war to the bilateral cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia is an action-driven solely by malicious political purposes.

Kanaani noted that unfortunately, some countries, driven by political motives and by resorting to baseless and unproven claims, attempt to continue their failed and ineffective policy of imposing and maintaining sanctions against the Iranian nation. Therefore, he advised the G7 to learn from past experiences and distance itself from destructive past policies.
