Middle East/ According to an Iran Press report, an Israeli missile attack targeted the Damascus International Airport late on Saturday, activating air defences which shot down some of the incoming projectiles.
Syria's SANA news agency quoted a military source as saying: “Our air defences responded to an Israeli missile attack on Damascus International Airport and shot down a number of hostile missiles”.
Some reports have suggested that the Israeli army has fired six missiles at Damascus International Airport.
It should be noted that on Monday 3 September, five Israeli missiles were fired at a Syrian military base in the Wadi-al-Ayoun district, west of Hama, in Western Syria.
The Syrian Army’s air defence tracked down all five missiles and destroyed them.
The Israeli regime has fired many missiles at Syrian military bases and at Syria's infrastructure, in support of various terror groups which are active in Syria. The fact that terror groups in Syria have been almost eradicated, or are very close to being eradicated, has made the Zionist regime anxious and dismayed.
