Mashhad (IP) - Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, at the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Council of Ministers meeting held in the Iranian city of Mashhad, stressed that developing regional connectivity, facilitating visas, and simplifying border procedures are crucial to unlocking the organization’s geo-economic potential.

Iran Press/Iran news: Pakistan's Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar said at the 28th Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states hosted by Iran on Tuesday: Unlocking the ECO's geo-economic potential can lead to interdependence for sustainable growth among member states and improve energy efficiency and regional trade.

Referring to Pakistan's efforts to improve transportation infrastructure, including railways and roads, especially the country's joint economic corridor with China and the launch of the ECO train on the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul route, he said: This approach is key to facilitating a smoother flow of goods with neighboring countries and, beyond that, is also effective in regional trade.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan, explaining the developments in the Middle East and strongly condemning the Zionist regime's attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, stated that Israel is a serious threat to regional peace and security.

Mohammad Ishaq Dar considered peace and security to be the most important factor and prerequisite for achieving the ECO's common economic goals and emphasized that the international community, especially the countries of the region and ECO members, must take action to end the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and protect the sovereignty of Lebanon and Syria. 204
