According to the Iran Press News Agency from Islamabad, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry issued a statement announcing that Pakistani Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar met and held talks with his Iranian counterpart, Syed Abbas Araghchi.
The statement added: "During the 28th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states, a side meeting took place where the Iranian and Pakistani Foreign Ministers and reached an agreement to enhance cooperation across various sectors between the two neighboring countries."
According to the report, Araghchi and Eshaq Dar also discussed issues of common interest and the latest regional and international developments.
Other officials from the Foreign Ministries of Pakistan and Iran, as well as Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam and Pakistani Ambassador to Tehran Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, were also present at the meeting.
Before this meeting, officials from the two neighboring countries, both significant players in regional dynamics, attended the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) ministerial meeting in Mashhad. Discussions at the meeting focused on regional challenges and opportunities, underscoring the importance of enhancing cooperation among member countries to foster regional development.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister also visited the Sharif Razavi Mosque last night and paid a visit to the shrine of the eighth Imam, Hazrat Ali ibn Musa al-Reza(peace be upon him), and offered prayers in a corner of the shrine.
