Tehran (IP) - In this phone conversation, Iran's President-elect, Masoud Pezeshkian while appreciating the Sri Lankan President for his congratulating message, stated that successful cooperation between Iran and Sri Lanka in the exchange of technical and engineering services will continue with strength.

Iran PressIran news: Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President of Sri Lanka, congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in the presidential election and on gaining the trust of the Iranian nation.

The President of Sri Lanka, while honoring the memory of the late President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, stated: "The loss of President Raisi was very sad for the nation of Sri Lanka and we hope that we can achieve the goals outlined by the government of the late president with the new administration. 

Pezeshkian also said: "Iran and Sri Lanka have very successful and valuable experiences in bilateral cooperation, including in the exchange of technical-engineering services in the construction of the huge multi-purpose project of Umaya dam and power plant, which we hope to be able to take steps in the direction of strengthening these cooperations in the new government."

Also, referring to the valuable agreements made during the visit of the late President Martyred Riais to Sri Lanka, Pezeshkian emphasized the efforts of the new government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to fully implement these agreements.
