Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking at his weekly presser on Monday, Nasser Kanaani said: "Withdrawal from the one-dimensional foreign policy is on the agenda of the(Iranian) government."
"We are witnessing the expansion of business relations with neighboring countries as well as with other distant countries. Our bilateral relations are experiencing a prosperous period, he stressed."
Elsewhere Iran's top diplomat noted: "In addition, the use of regional or trans-regional and multilateral solutions has been a priority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
Referring to Iran's membership to BRICS, Kanaani called it as proof showing dynamism of the country's government saying: "Membership in some important treaties including BRICS, strengthening relations with Eurasian economic cooperation and signing comprehensive plans for long-term cooperation with a number of countries in the region and beyond the region, showing the dynamism of the government on the path of prosperity for economic and commercial relations along with Iran's political relations."
In the shadow of the Iran's Leader's advice, the government has paid attention to the development of economic relations with other countries, added Kanaani.
"Withdrawal from the one-dimension foreign policy and paying attention to all national capacities in the development of foreign relations, especially in the economic field, is a matter of serious attention, and the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will follow it seriously, concluded he."
Iraq capable of domestic security, no need to US
Iran basically is against the presence of the presence of foreign military forces in the region, especially the US forces, as they never contribute to the security of the region, said the Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He told reporters that these are the Iraqi nation and government that should decide about the US bases on Iraqi soil as the Iraqi Parliament has explicitly proved the expulsion of the US forces from Iraq.
Kanaani said: "We support Iraq's demand for the expulsion of foreign forces from this country and we are confident that the Iraqi forces are capable of maintaining security."
He referred to the developing ties between Iran and Iraq and the agreements signed between the two countries including the so-called joint security agreement: "The security agreement document is only one of the signed documents with great steps being taken towards the implementation of this agreement and additional steps are being taken; the joint executive committee of the two countries is still active to implement this agreement and complete the related steps."
The Iranian and Iraqi governments are determined to make joint efforts to improve relations in various fields, including the economic and security cooperation fields, through a common will to consolidate stability and security at the borders and fight terrorism, he reiterated.
Concerns mount over reputation of Munich Security Conference
In response to inquiries regarding the exclusion of the Iranian Foreign Minister from the Munich Security Conference, he expressed deep apprehension about the direction and objectives of the prestigious event.
When asked about Iran's consecutive absence from the conference, Kanaani criticized the organizers for deviating from the founding principles and transforming the platform into a forum for promoting divisive agendas.
He lamented the exclusion of countries that play a vital role in regional security and stability while highlighting the presence of controversial figures from nations with questionable human rights records.
"We are more concerned about the future of the Munich Security Conference than our own participation, as it risks becoming a biased platform against sovereign nations," Kanaani emphasized.
He called for a shift towards inclusivity by inviting authentic representatives of oppressed nations, such as Palestinians, to share their perspectives.
"I wish that instead of inviting the criminal Zionist regime and inviting the criminal officials of that regime who have a case in the International Court of Justice, the conference would invite the real representatives of the Palestinian people to present their views," added the spokesman.
"I wish they would pay attention that the problem of the Middle East is 'occupation' and not 'resistance'. Therefore, we are concerned about the fate and status of the Munich Security Conference," Nasser Kanaani highlighted.
Israeli assassination of journalists in Gaza can be internationally prosecuted
The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the martyrdom of journalists in Gaza along with other crimes of the Zionist regime could be pursued in the international courts.
Kanaani said in response to the Iran Press correspondent's question about the Israeli regime's assassination of the journalists in Gaza, the media staff were deliberately targeted, but they still did their duties responsibly.
The martyrdom of 127 media staff in Gaza by the Zionist regime in the last four months shows that the regime is afraid of exposing the world to the facts.
IAEA head must avoid political comments
Elsewhere, Kanaani referred to Rafael Grossi's claims about Iran's nuclear activities and said that Iran has declared many times, as the IAEA inspectors stated in 15 reports, that the Iranian nuclear activities are peaceful and in the framework of international law.
He emphasized: "Achieving nuclear weapons has no place in Iran's doctrine, but we use our rights based on the international laws to establish our peaceful activities."
Kanaani said that Tehran recommend the Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi to avoid political comments outside his professional framework.
Iran supports the improvement of conditions in Afghanistan
Referring to the Doha meeting on Afghanistan issues, he highlighted Iran's emphasis on the need for the efforts of all countries and international organizations to improve conditions in Afghanistan.
Kanaani said that Iran tried to reach the goal and pursue it through bilateral consultations along with regional and international mechanisms.
"Our presence in Doha meeting is within the framework of a responsible approach to create better conditions in Afghanistan," he stressed.
