They also emphasized their desire to develop and deepen relations between the two countries, and to continue coordination in order to promote regional and international security and peace.
Pezeshkian's victory in the runoff election came after a tight race that saw voters turn out in large numbers on Friday.
The veteran parliamentarian received over 16 million votes, defeating former nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, who received more than 13 million votes out of the over 30 million cast.
