Iran Press/ Europe: According to Russia's state media, citing the country's Investigative Committee, an unidentified gunman broke into a school in the city of Izhevsk in the Udmurtia region, opening fire at students, teachers, and security guards.
The attacker killed 15 people, including 7 children, while at least 24 people were wounded.
According to lawmaker Alexander Khinshtein, the perpetrator had two rubber-bullet handguns, remodeled for live ammunition.
Governor Alexander Brechalov of the Udmurtia region said that there were dead and wounded among the school students.
One of the victims was identified as the school’s security guard. “A tragedy happened in Udmurtia today,” Berchalov told journalists
The school has been evacuated and the area around it has been fenced off, reports said, without giving any details about the identity of the gunman and his motives.
According to the governor and local police, the gunman shot himself after going on the killing spree.
The shooting took place at school number 88, with almost 1000 pupils and 80 teachers.
