(IP)- Russian deputy minister of foreign affairs warned of the danger of conflict between nuclear powers in the Asia-Pacific region.

Iran PressEurope:  The Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Alexeyevich Ryabkov claimed the U.S. to be indifferent to the current and future of the Ukrainian people.

The Russian official called the attack on areas close to nuclear facilities a sign of "Kyiv's irresponsibility."

Russian top diplomat warned on Thursday at the end of the 'Strengthening the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Regime' seminar in Bishkek that the transfer of shells containing depleted uranium by the United States to Kyiv is a criminal act that leads to the escalation of tensions in the region, according to Interfax news agency.

"The statement is simple - this action is not only a step to escalate the situation but also a reflection of the brutal disregard of the Washington officials for the environmental consequences of using this type of ammunition in a war zone," added Russia's Ryabkov.

He pointed to the American official's ignorance of the investigations, experts, and specialists' warnings about the consequences of the use of such ammunition.

He also said that as long as this type of munition is not used on U.S. soil, they will not care about its consequences.

On the shelling near the nuclear infrastructures, the Russian diplomat pointed to Kyiv's irresponsible approach to security issues, so Moscow calls on Western countries and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to take these facts seriously.

"I mean not only the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant but also the recent drone attack on the city of Kurchatov in the vicinity of the Kursk nuclear power plant (NPP)," said the Russian deputy minister, sharing concerns about the security of the nuclear facilities, and the irresponsibility of the Ukrainian officials about the security measures of the nuclear facilities.
