Iran Press/ Europe: Media outlets circulated reports earlier that the United States and Saudi Arabia were allegedly exchanging information about a possible assault by Iran against the kingdom or some other states in the region, TASS reports.
Asked by journalists at a news briefing whether the Kremlin viewed such a scenario as possible, Dmitry Peskov replied: "Frankly, we have no information at all and do not know where such speculation came from."
Reuters reported earlier, citing a member of the National Security Council (NSC), that the United States raised alarm bells over Iranian threats to Saudi Arabia and was ready to react if need be. In addition, Washington said it was in constant contact through military and intelligence channels with the kingdom.
The NSC representative made this statement after a report by the Wall Street Journal, which alleged that Riyadh shared its intelligence with the United States about Iran’s purported plans to deliver strikes against numerous targets in Saudi Arabia.
