The alarm sirens in Israeli settlements adjacent to the Gaza Strip sounded for the fifth time today (Friday), amidst escalating tensions in the region.

Iran Press/West Asia: According to the Palestinian Sama News Agency, the Israeli army radio reported Friday evening that three rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward Sderot in the southern part of the occupied territories.

Al Jazeera reported that the rockets were launched from northern Gaza. Israeli army radio claimed that one of the rockets did not reach the occupied territories, while two others landed in an open area in Sderot.

Israeli sources stated that the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, fired a missile targeting an Israeli helicopter in the Be’eri area. These sources noted that the missile narrowly missed hitting the helicopter.

The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom highlighted unusual alerts in the Be’eri area surrounding Gaza, citing an unconventional and bold attempt by Palestinian fighters to strike an Israeli military helicopter. The report described the incident as a bold move that caused concern among Israeli forces.

The Israeli army radio, quoting a military source, confirmed that Hamas launched a surface-to-air missile toward the Israeli helicopter.

Meanwhile, reports emerged of sirens being activated in Sderot and Iron Dome missile defense system interceptors being deployed to counter a rocket launched from Gaza.

This escalation marks a significant development in the ongoing conflict, with heightened fears on both sides of further confrontations.
