Iran Press/ Europe: The Bosnian War was an international armed conflict that took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992 and 1995, led and supplied by Croatia and Serbia.
The war was part of the breakup of Yugoslavia. Following the Slovenian and Croatian secessions from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1991. After Bosnia and Herzegovina declared a referendum for independence on February 29, 1992, A war broke out with Croatia and Serbia attacks.
Mohammad Hossein Ansari, Iran's Cultural Attaché to Bosnia and Herzegovina, said in the ceremony that the Resistance Front commanders sacrificed their lives at the historical turning points to preserve the people's freedom and independence.
Visoko's top cleric, Midhat Afandi Cakaolvic, said commemorating the Iranian and Bosnian resistance heroes whose blood was shed for human rights and dignity was paramount.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, a photo gallery exhibiting the images of Martyr Soleimani was set up that was welcomed by the participants.
Iran's top anti-terror commander, Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, was martyred in a US drone strike directly ordered by former US President Donald Trump near the Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
The attack also martyred the deputy chief of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, among others.
