Iran Press/ Africa: Yahaya Mohammad Gezo disclosed to an Iran Press correspondent that the rain began around 8 pm on Monday and lasted for some hours. He said most of the affected victims were children who died due to building collapse, and the injured ones were taken to Mutum by the hospital in the capital of the Local Government.
Yahaya said the rainstorm also destroyed schools and infrastructures.
Malam Musa Hashim revealed to Iran Press that when he heard his children crying for help, he managed to rescue one of his sons from the bricks to the neighboring house, but after he returned, he only found the dead body of his daughter.
Malam Hashim lamented that up till now, Government has not sent any assistance to the people affected by the disaster.
