Iran Press/ Iran news: Abbas Ali Kadkhodaei went on to say that the Guardian Council has done its best to protect and secure people's right to determine their own destiny.
Kadkhodaei stressed that in the 13th round of Iran's Presidential elections, both the health of the election and the public health would be noted and observed.
He continued that for the very same reason, some protocols and procedures have been arranged.
Referring to the emphasis on protecting people's health by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in his Wednesday's remarks, Kadkhodaei stated that the following measures to protect people's health would include: Observing social-distancing, using open areas for locating polling stations as well as sanitizing the places and the equipment, and electronic authentication instead of the fingerprinting activity.
He also said that there would be one representative of Iran's Ministry of Health in each polling station to monitor how health protocols would be observed during elections.
Efforts made to assist Iranians abroad to attend presidential election
Guardian Council spokesman said extensive efforts had been made to help Iranians living abroad to vote in the presidential election.
Stating that election violators would be prosecuted, Abbas-Ali Kadkhodai urged people to report any violations and said special inspectors would be sent to Tehran and other cities' election headquarters.
Pointing out that ballot boxes have increased by 7% compared to the last elections, he added that 67,000 ballot boxes had been set across the country.
The spokesman for the Guardian Council added the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement and made a great effort to garner votes from Iranians abroad. "Even if necessary, it is done through mobile voting boxes in border cities and countries that did not agree to cooperate."
He also highlighted Guardian Council's efforts to protect people's rights.
Kadkhodaei stated that there are no security problems, and with the cooperation of security and law enforcement forces, a safe and secure election would be held.
He announced that candidates' representatives could attend the Guardian Council on the election day and monitor the process.
Before the 13th round of the presidential election in Iran, the Guardian Council's Spokesperson Abbas-Ali Kadkhodai held a press conference on Thursday, June 17, at the IRIB Int'l Conference Center.
The 13th Presidential Election in Iran will be held from 7:00 am to 24:00 pm local time on Friday, June 18, 2021.
