Iran Press/Iran News: In response to Iran Press question about the United States Department of State's claim that the death toll of Iran's COVID-19 patients indicates Iran's incapability to invest in the health sector, Kianoush Jahanpour said that the US diplomacy is based on denial.
"Iran's Foreign Ministry will respond and sue the US claim but in the health field, there are defensive mechanisms that some people use to evade facing challenges, like projection. The United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is also activating one of those mechanisms and tries to deny the human disaster in the US," he stressed.
Iran's Ministry of Health Spokesman added that US diplomacy is the policy of projection; It first denies then projects.
He highlighted the significant achievements of the Islamic Republic in the field of Health during the past 40 years, adding: "Iran has produced 97 percent of its own medicine and has the highest insurance coverage in the world."
Kianoush Jahanpour explained the country's achievements, in particular the growth of medics, medical faculties and universities which have led to being a forerunner in this field.
He referred to the perfect performance of Iran regarding vaccination, adding: "The US government has acted selectively and discriminately in this regard, even now that they are struggling with the deadly coronavirus."
"Iran definitely has a lack of financial infrastructures in comparison to the US and has been limited by the US as it has enacted sanctions against the Iranian people, in particular, children, women, and patients, but all could not stop Iran to combat and fight the COVID-19," the Head of Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health added.
