Iran Press/Iran news: Attending a press conference on Saturday in Tabriz, northwest of Iran, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said Iran and Japan have well-established economic and commercial ties and that Japan is a customer of Iranian oil.
"We liked that the countries which had long been friends with us would have had a vision of the future, and Japan has taken good steps in this regard," he noted.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesman stated that proposals have been made for de-escalation of tensions in the region, which will be discussed in President Rouhani's trip to Japan, Iran Press reported.
He expressed hope that the planned trip would be fruitful.
Sanctioning medicine crime against humanity
Foreign Ministry spokesman slammed US sanctions against Iran's import of medicines and noted although the US had said medicines will not be sanctioned, in practice, it has blocked the entry of medicines into Iran.
Mousavi stated the United States even sanctioned the Central Bank of Iran, making it even more difficult for Iran to import the medicines it needs, constituting a crime against humanity and undermining all human rights.
Mousavi said while the US during the recent unrest in Iran pretended to sympathize with Iranian people, but with sanctioning of medicines, it has shown its true colors. The United States is no friend of Iran.
Eurasian Economic Union
Elsewhere, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman commented on the importance of cooperation with neighboring countries, saying: "Concerning our neighbors and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), a major step has been taken and Iran's accession to the union attaches great importance to Iran and is beneficial for Iran's economy."
Mousavi also commented on Armenia polluting the Aras River, noting that Aras River is one of the most important issues for the country and the foreign ministry is vigorously pursuing the matter. 101/211/205
