Iran Press/Iran news: Answering Iran Press correspondent's question, The Head of Iran's election headquarters Jamal Orf said: "As the constitution indicates the Islamic establishment is based on the will of the people. In 1979 Islamic Revolution, when a large population rushed into the streets and decided to change the political system and succeeded, then a referendum was held for the first time in April of that year to prove the legitimacy of Islamic Republic of Iran and at the same time to pay attention to the people's votes."
He further noted, "We have passed many conspiracies. One of the biggest ones was the wars in which our students, teachers and all of the people defended their country. People are present everywhere. One of those places is elections. We also have demonstrations and marches with the presence of our people. We have witnessed large crowds of people taking part in the rallies after the assassination of Lt. Gen Qassem Soleimani by the US. These are all manifestations of a political system that is based on the peoples' votes."
