Iran Press/Iran news: The US and the E3 (UK, France, Germany) wrote a resolution draft for the IAEA Board of Governors, in which they claimed that there were nuclear sites in Iran not announced to the agency.
In a telephone conversation with Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, on Thursday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program confirmed by the IAEA, a fact that could not be misrepresented through hasty political comments.
Amir-Abdollahian referred to the trip of IAEA's Head Rafael Grossi to Tehran and said the two sides reached an agreement with a positive trend of discussions, adding that such claims by the E3 were political intervention in the agency's technical affairs, which was totally destructive.
He then referred to the Vienna talks to revive the Iranian international nuclear agreement, the JCPOA, and said that a good deal was available if all the parties adhered to diplomacy rather than a threat.
Iran's international nuclear agreement or the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed between the country and P5+1 countries (Russia, China, UK, Germany, France, and the US) in 2015, but the US scrapped it on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran.
The eighth round of Vienna talks on lifting US sanctions against Iran resumed on February 8 in the Austrian capital after an 11-day break for consultations between the delegations and their capitals in the presence of the Iranian and P4+1 delegations (Germany, France, Britain, Russia, and China). It has been held in various levels and formats since then.
Talks have been on hold since March as Washington insists on its refusal to undo its past wrongs through measures such as removing Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) from its foreign terrorist organization list.
Iran's Foreign Minister also announced the country's readiness to develop relations with Singapore. Vivian Balakrishnan, for his part, assessed Iran-Singapore relations as positive and growing and stressed the expansion of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. Balakrishnan invited Iran's FM to visit Singapore.
