Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking in a live video presser and in response to IP's question on Iran's labs' capacities and the importance of 'real-time PCR molecule test', Kianoush Jahanpour added the capacity of doing PCR test is 15,000 and it can be increased to 20,000 but you in practice witness the range is 12,000 and by implementing some rules, Iran medical staff are trying to increase the 'PCR test' 10 times more during the recent days.
This health ministry official stated that PCR test number in Iran is significant not only in the region but the Mediterranean region and East-Asia which their infected and Coronavirus diagnosed patients are 10 times more than Iran, even in the countries whose diagnosing capabilities are greater than Iran, but over the increasing of their infected people, they are unable to increase their PCR tests which limited to the maximum 5000-6,000.
Jahanpour by highlighting Iran's capability in PCR test 10- fold more reiterated that the value of the test to diagnose the disease, the error rate is 40 percent but its positivity is 60 percent and definite.
"The medical staff is trying to decrease the error coefficient and already they have done this by boosting and improving sampling test especially oropharyngeal and oropharyngeal sampling," he stated. 207/104
