Iran Press/ Iran News: Receiving the Chief of Iraq's Judicial Supreme Council Faiq Zidan on Thursday, Ebrahim Raisi said: "We attach special importance to the relations and cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad, and strengthening relations with this country is a priority in Iran's foreign policy."
Raisi pointed to the US assassination of the former IRGC's Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani and the Iraqi official Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis who made endeavors in the fight against terrorism and establishment of peace and stability in the region and pointed out: "The US government explicitly claimed responsibility for this great crime, which was in fact a state terrorist act, and it must be held accountable to world public opinion and history."
Iraq's Faiq Zidan, for his part, congratulated Ebrahim Raisi, saying: "Tehran-Baghdad ties surely would witness promising days in political, economic and legal areas."
