Kano (IP) - Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky in Kano State have taken to the streets of the North Western city strongly to condemn the ongoing Israeli genocide against civilians in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon and Gaza of Palestine.

Iran PressAfrica: On Saturday, the protestors converged near Fagge Mosque in the city, holding flags of Lebanon and Palestine with banners with different inscriptions such as "We Stand with Lebanon, United States Stop The Ongoing Genocide in Gaza," as well as photos of the Lebanese resistance Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky.

Before the protest began, flags of the United States and that of Israel were placed on the ground, where people marched on them. In his message after the protest was concluded peacefully, Professor Isa Nalado called on the Nigerian government to immediately break relations with Israel.

"We are here this afternoon, we in the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the distinguished leadership of his eminence, Sheikh Ibrahim Yaqoub Zakzaky are out today to express our total condemnation of the war crimes and genocide of the apartheid Israel on Palestine and again on Lebanon."

Professor Nalado added: "We are all witnesses to what has been happening since last October, almost a year now, more than 41 thousand Palestinians were massacred and now, as if this is not enough, while Hezbollah of Lebanon has expressed solidarity with Palestine, this apartheid Israel with the support of Western countries especially America and Europe are committing a lot of atrocities on Lebanese people. They exploded pagers (communication devices) in Lebanon killing so many people. We are calling on the world leaders to stop this genocide and we are calling on the Nigerian Government to cut ties with apartheid Israel with immediate effect. We are also calling on Nigerians and people of the world to come out in mass to condemn the genocide and to support the people of Lebanon and to support the Palestinian's cause."
