Nigeria(IP)- In Nigeria, the ongoing #Endbadgovernanceprotests that kicked off on Thursday is taking another dimension, as the protesters in some Northern parts of the country on Monday morning and evening were seen, marching the streets and chanting different slogans with others carrying placards, which clearly indicates that the masses are tired of American and Western hegemony.

Iran Press/Africa: According to information gathered by Iran Press, people in Bauchi, Kano, Katsina and Kaduna States were seen marching with flags of Russia ,a style used by neighboring country, Republic of Niger, which ended a long term hegemony of its former colonial master, France and the United States of America. In Kaduna State, thousands of masses took to the streets on Monday evening, chanting slogans in Hausa language, saying "we rather die of bullets than die of hunger."

One of the protesters in an exclusive interview with Iran Press said "The performance of government of this country is poor. We are tired of how this country is being managed. It is being monopolized.Country that is supposed to be for everybody is being centered.

It is centered, the government is centered. We want the bad governance to end. Fuel subsidy should be returned. The education subsidy should be returned. We are just here to advocate for a good governance, that is all."In some parts of Kaduna, the angry protesters burned tyres and injured a police officer by stoning after members of the Police Force fired teargas and live bullets at the protesters.

The Kaduna State Government later imposed a 24 hours curfew in the state. Nigerian people vowed to continue protesting in the streets for ten days, in order to draw the attention of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and the world over the insecurity challenges, hunger, high cost of living, currency devaluation, the hike in petrol price and corruption among government officials.Since the start of the nationwide protests on 1 August, almost 50 people have been killed and many arrested by the police.203
