Rome (IP) - As the outbreak of the coronavirus in Italy reaches its climax, homeless people on the streets of major cities, including Rome, are living in poor conditions.

Iran PressEurope: As stricter restrictions are gradually tightened across Italy to fight the coronavirus, homeless people have found it hard to have access to food and other livelihoods.

According to official statistics, there are more than 60,000 homeless people in Italy, about 17,000 of whom live in Rome, the capital of Italy.

Italian health officials have repeatedly warned of the serious risk of COVID-19 and the need for extra care.

Italy is still considered as one of the main outbreaks of the virus in Europe, with more than 1.2 million COVID-19 infected patients and 45,000 victims.

The difficult economic situation in Italy has left a significant number of Italian citizens homeless due to the inability to pay rent and mortgages, and they are forced to live on the streets or in their own cars.

The continuation of the coronavirus crisis in Italy has exacerbated the European country's economic problems and worsened the situation of vulnerable groups such as homeless people.
