MFA Spox:

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the country will negotiate not based on trust in the American government but according to the national interests and objectives specified in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at his weekly presser on Monday, Nasser Kanaani said that the question about Robert Malley's case and his resignation is after the release of the audio tape in which he had said that the US aims to return to the JCPOA is to put pressure on Iran.

He further elaborated: "Iran's view of the United States is clear, we never have trust full negotiation with the United States, and the JCPOA was not a product of trust in the United States, and the continuation of negotiations to revive the JCPOA and remove oppressive sanctions and return of (all parties) to the JCPOA is not based on Iran's trust in the American regime."

Iran's top diplomat further said: "The JCPOA was supposed to be signed and implemented, and the result of the implementation of the JCPOA and the US government's adherence to its obligations could be the basis of a relative trust in the US government, which in practice did not create such trust for Iran, so in the continuation of the diplomatic process to remove the oppressive sanctions and the return of all parties, including the United States, to the JCPOA, naturally, Iran will negotiate not based on trust in the American government, but based on the national interests and objectives specified in the JCPOA, and will continue the path of diplomacy, and when the other party is ready to return to the agreement and Iran make sure of it and the JCPOA implementation can be resumed."

Normalization of relations with Israeli regime has increased regional insecurity

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson has expressed concern over the normalization of relations between some countries in the region and Israel, stating that it has contributed to the ongoing Israeli crimes and heightened insecurity in the region.

Kanaani highlighted that strengthening and solidifying the position of the usurping Israel regime in the region has been a top priority for US governments for many years. Despite efforts by the United States to improve relations between the occupying regime and certain regional governments, he emphasized that in practice, Israel continues to perpetrate crimes against the Palestinian people.

He further stated, "The regime's actions, which include disregarding the basic rights of Palestinians and escalating its daily crimes against them, are deeply concerning."

The spokesperson further mentioned that, for example, during the first six months of the current year, approximately 200 innocent people in Palestine and resistance forces were killed. Additionally, over 3,000 Palestinians were captured and detained, Palestinian homes were widely destroyed, the Al-Aqsa Mosque was desecrated, and settlements were expanded in areas that belonged to Palestine based on peace agreements.

He added that Islamic countries should be aware of past experiences and understand that peace and normalization of relations with the regime will not benefit the Palestinian nation. Instead, it will leave the regime free to commit more crimes against the Palestinian people.

According to the spokesperson: "The normalization of relations is not in the interest of Palestine or peace in the region because the regime relies on creating insecurity for its own security."

Issues related to Arash oil field must be discussed in technical, legal framework

The spokesman of Iran's Foreign Ministry said about the visit of the political and economic delegation of Syria to Tehran: "A significant part of the purpose of this visit is in the framework of conducting talks to accelerate the process of implementing the various agreements between the two countries that were agreed upon during the previous visit of the president to Damascus."

"During the President's visit to Damascus, 15 documents were signed between the officials of the two countries in various fields, generally economic and commercial fields. During the current trip of the Syrian high-ranking delegation to Tehran, high-level negotiations regarding the acceleration and implementation of these documents will be done and views will be exchanged,"  Kanaani noted.

He said: "In the framework of the Syrian Foreign Minister's visit to Tehran, various issues will be discussed, including bilateral relations and regional issues, the continuation of the process of fighting terrorism, and issues related to the process of consolidating stability and completing the political process in Syria. The process of de-escalation in the relations between Syria and Turkey and laying the groundwork for the upcoming quadrilateral meeting of Iran, Russia, Syria, and Turkey in the framework of the Astana process and negotiations to de-escalate the tension and the normalization of relations between Syria and Turkey will be discussed in the negotiations. "

The top diplomat elsewhere stated, "The Zionist regime's frequent aggressions on sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria is an important issue. Iran will discuss this issue with the Syrian side in the continuation of its support process for Syria to counter the aggression of the Zionist regime. The illegal presence of American soldiers in Syria is an important issue. Discussions will be held in this regard, and the issue of how to help the return of Syrian refugees to this country and how to facilitate the sending of international humanitarian aid to the Syrian people will be discussed. We hope that the result of these talks will accelerate the cooperation between the two countries in various bilateral issues, including commercial and economic fields."

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said about the Arash oil and gas field: "Iran's oil minister announced his position yesterday. We emphasize that Iran always supports and adheres to the friendly settlement of border and maritime issues with its neighbors. In relation to the exploitation of the joint oil and gas fields with the neighbors, we always took the path of negotiation and understanding and adhered to it. Regarding the use of the Arash oil and gas field, as we have officially announced, we want joint use in the exploitation of this field, and in this regard, we have announced our readiness to talk with the Kuwaiti side. However, if there is no desire for joint use of this oil field, it is natural that Iran has put its own rights and interests in its own program to explore and exploit these resources. The administration considers itself obliged to defend and protect the rights and interests of the nation."

He added: "In relation to the neighbors, we emphasize the necessity of good neighborliness and resolving disputes through dialogue, and we hope to continue working in this direction with negotiations in good faith. In the negotiations between the Foreign Ministers of Iran and Kuwait on the sidelines of the Baku meeting, there was this agreement between the two sides, and the Kuwaiti side suggested that we take this issue forward outside the media and within the framework of the two countries' specialized talks. As Iran, we believe to discuss such issues in the framework of technical and legal discussions. We are ready to cooperate and talk with the Kuwaiti brothers in this regard."

He stated: "De-escalation of the tension in the relations between Syria and Turkey and the upcoming meeting between Iran, Russia, Turkey and Syria, and other economic and commercial consular issues will also be discussed."

Kanaani said: "The aggression of the Zionist regime in Syria is noted and Iran will discuss the issue in the process of supporting Syria. In the end, he pointed out the importance of helping Syrian refugees return and sending international aid, especially to the areas damaged in the war and earthquake, and said: "These issues will also be discussed."
