Iran (IP) - Naseh Jet Drone is among the great achievements of Iran's Army, a country that is among the top producers of drones in the world.

Iran PressIran News: Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran purchased a number of MQM107 target drones from the US in order to test the anti-aircraft systems and air-to-air missiles of the Air Force fighters.

With its micro turbojet engine, the American drone could reach a speed of 925 km per hour with a flight height was about 12 km.

In recent years, Iranian experts have managed to develop a new drone based on the MQM107 target drone technology, which enjoys high capabilities.

When Karrar was unveiled as a bomber drone, it was not supposed to be replaced by the American counterpart, yet with the American MQM107 stores emptied, Karrar stepped in to carry out the task of a defense system, thus being recognized as Naseh Jet drone.

The Karrar drone is a product of Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA) which was officially unveiled in 2010 on the Iranian National Day of Defense. The drone was planned to be used as a target drone for testing radar and defense systems and to carry out air bombing operations.

Up to today, four generations of Karrar drones have been introduced with little differences in size and aviation features but with various missions. The Karrar drone family is launched using rail launchers and solid fuel boosters and land with parachutes and airbags.

Karrar is capable of carrying ammo used by manned combat jets. Looking at the different drones in the world, it could be said that Karrar seems to be a full-option drone on an almost fixed platform.

Reconnaissance, being a flying target foe aerial exercise, attacking land and sea targets, aerial interception, suicide attack, and electronic warfare are missions so far defined for the drone; given that the marine mission of the drone is separated from its land missions, 7 missions could be said defined for the drone.

Naseh is entirely similar to the American MQM107 and is used as a target drone in aerial defense and air-to-air exercises.

The jet engine installed on Naseh is Tolou micro-jet applied in the Karrar drone and Noor cruise missile, which is similar to the made-in-France TRI 60-2 074 microjet.

The Frenc engine has 3 compressors, a combustion chamber, and a turbine with a diameter of 43 cm, a length of 124 cm, a weight of 61 kg, and the generation of a maximum of 3.4 KN force; the Persian type has 3 compressors, a combustion chamber, and a turbine with a diameter of 33 cm, a length of 130 cm, a weight of 55 kg, and the generation of a maximum of 3.45 KN force.

Naseh is a low-wing drone, a feature that makes the drone capable of maneuvering in high velocities and making the user closer to the real situation of air defense in exercises, often common in drones aimed to maneuver at high speeds.
