Iran Press/ Africa: Imam Ali ( PBUH), whose birthday is an occasion celebrated by both Sunni and Shia Muslims for his honesty, belief, courage, knowledge, loyalty to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and devotion to Islam. During the celebrations, there were songs in praise of Imam Ali amidst all the jubilation.
Dr Hussein Ibrahim, a lecturer at the Islamic University of Ghana was invited to deliver a speech about the birth and life of Imam Ali (AS), cousin of Prophet Muhammad.
"Imam Ali, the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet was born on 13 of Rajab to Abu Talib son of Abd al-Mutallib, and Fatima bint Assad who's also the aunt of the holy Prophet. He was raised and trained by the Prophet (PBUH) and later married his daughter, Hazrat Fatima (AS), who gave birth to five children including Imam Hassan, Imam Husain, Sayyeda Zainab, Sayyeda, Umm Kulthum, and Mohsin, who were not born due to miscarriage that Sayyeda Fatima had, caused by injuries. 219
