Iran Press/ Iran News: Reza Fatemi Amin made the remarks in a meeting with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiar Saidov.
The two sides discussed developing trade ties.
Stressing the fact that the tariffs affect the volume of trade between the two countries, Fatemi Amin called for defining a roadmap aiming to develop trade.
He pointed to high commercial capacities between Iran and Uzbekistan, saying: "If we can finalize the infrastructure, especially with regard to tariffs and the road map, it is expected that there will be a very significant growth in the economic relations.”
He also invited Saidov to participate in the great exhibition of Iran's export capabilities, which is held at the Tehran International Exhibition, with the presence of ministers and trade delegations from more than 50 countries.
Balancing the trade balance between the two countries is also emphasized by Iran, he said adding that it can be done through joint investment between Iranian companies in Uzbekistan and vice versa.
Meanwhile, Saidov said: "We are interested in increasing trade exchanges to 100%, which we must do more to achieve."
In the meantime, we must find a solution that is beneficial to both parties and useful for both countries.
The most important issue is that there is political and economic will in every country to increase trade exchanges, and in this regard, Uzbekistan offers its full readiness to develop open and pragmatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, he stated.
