    Jordan: US sanctions will not affect Amman-Damascus ties

The Jordanian Prime Minister has said that the US sanctions would not affect economic relations and trade between Jordan and Syria.

Iran PressMiddle East: Referring to the US 'Caesar Act' to sanction Syria, Omar al-Razzaz said on Monday that the basic materials and goods will continue to be exchanged between Syria and Jordan.

Al-Razzaz furthers said that Jordan considers any opportunity for bilateral trade with Syria.

The US Congress passed Caesar Law in 2019 and enforced it from the beginning of June.


Assad's wife and 38 others hit by US sanctions

The US sanctions against Syria in the form of the so-called 'Caesar Act' targetted 39 Syrian officials and figures including President Bashar al-Assad and his wife. Syria war, which began in March 2011, has killed hundreds of thousands of Syrians and displaced thousands more while destroying most of the country’s infrastructure and industrial capacity. 207/209
