Iran Press/ Asia: Zabihullah Mujahid, the Spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, tweeted on Wednesday that the attack had nothing to do with Afghans or Afghanistan.
An assailant attacked three clerics with a knife in the courtyard of Imam Reza's shrine on Tuesday, April 5, killing one cleric and wounding two others.
Iranian media reported that the attacker was a 21-year-old Uzbek from Afghanistan who entered Iran through Pakistan a year ago.
This person is named Abdul Latif Moradi. Iranian security forces have also arrested six other people, including Abdul Latif Moradi's two brothers.
Zabihullah Mujahid was not the only Afghan official who has reacted to Masshhad terrorist attack.
Following the terrorist attack on three religious scholars and students in the courtyard of the holy shrine of Razavi, Salahuddin Rabbani, the Head of Jamiat-e- Islami Party of Afghanistan (Islamic Society of Afghanistan) in a message extended condolences to Iranian nation on the tragic event.
He stated that that such a tragic event is rooted in deviant ideas of Takfiri currents.
