Iran Press/ Iran news: An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale shook Qatoor district in Khoy city, West Azarbaijan province.
The earthquake occurred at 9:22 a.m. local time on Sunday at a depth of 6 kilometers and injured 75 people, but no fatalities have been reported so far.
The earthquake has damaged mobile and fixed telephone, water, electricity, and gas network infrastructures.
In Turkey, it was felt mostly in the eastern district of Baskale in Van province on the Iran border. Turkey's health minister says nine people have been killed in Turkey in a magnitude 5.7 earthquake that struck western Iran.
Turkish officials say at least 37 people have been wounded with some in critical condition. Last month a quake centered on the eastern Turkish city of Elazig killed more than 40 people.
