The President of Venezuela expressed his regret for the passivity and silence of Western countries against the desecration of Holy Quran.

Iran PressAmerica: Copies of the Holy Quran have been burned at several demonstrations in Sweden and Denmark this summer, causing outrage among Muslims and prompting protesters to storm and vandalize the Swedish embassy in Baghdad.

Denmark and Sweden have said they deplore the burning of the Holy Quran but cannot prevent it under rules protecting free speech.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro commented on desecration of the holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark. 

Maduro condemned the lack of reaction of EU leaders to the actions to burn the Holy Quran.

He condemned the lack of reaction of the leaders of European countries, as well as a number of media. According to him, those who turn a blind eye to the burning of sacred scriptures in Europe are “indirectly involved” in this.

The Venezuelan president also said that he categorically condemns hate crimes against Muslim peoples and the activities of extreme right and racist circles that manifested itself in desecration of copies of the holy Quran in Europe, adding that “What would we Christians feel if someone started burning the Bible in other countries? We would feel great indignation." 219
